Examine Your Life
Question  20: How am I better than I was last year, last month, last week?

   Rabbi Schwartz :
Life is our great teacher. One of the first questions a future employer asks one who applies for a job is, 'Do you have work experience?' He knows that having 'done' it is always better than never having done it. As such, in terms of life wisdom and skill, we may well have more now, than we had last year, last month and last week.

The question is though, what have we done with these lessons - how have we applied them to our lives. Being more doesn't depend only on receiving more and having more. Rather, we are more, only if we strive to do more and be more - and in the right direction.

Potentially, we are better than we were last year, last month, last week, but we must continue asking, 'Am I really improving'. This question is not as simple as it seems. But, if we keep asking it, we will remember that we need always to grow and not squander life's golden opportunities.
