SHABBOS SHACHARIS: HASHOMAYIM MISAPRIM (2)

"The Torah of Hashem ... More desirable than gold, even than multitudes of fine gold; sweeter than honey and drippings from the combs."

It is a curious thing, writes Eiz Yosef, that if we indulge overly in anything, then before long we become sick of it. One who gorges himself on even the most wonderful delicacies will find himself in the end with nothing more than a case of indigestion. And so it is with all worldly pleasures.

Then of course there are those who devote their lives to amassing giant fortunes. All their lives they labor and labor, seeking to increase their welath. These people never seem to be satisfied. But they have lost sight of one all-important fact: that money is but a means to an end. And if their money cannot provide them with happiness, then it is of no real value.
