Annual Chanukah Raffle

Once again the boys were motivated by our annual chanukah raffle. Each class was given an equal amount of raffle tickets. These tickets used in both limudei kodesh and limudei chol. Two different menorahs were raffled. These menorahs were displayed across from the office.

Chanukah Art Pavillion

The Yeshiva held a a Chanukah creativity contest. Many boys participated by bringing in many different kinds of menorahs and dreidels. Some of these included, electric menorahs, lego menorahs, a menorah made of parts an old engine. This contest will be judged by Madam Ellis. We will inform you of the winners in the next issue.

Yedios Contest

After Chanukah the yedios contest on Shmuel and Melochim will begin. The boys already received the questions and will be able to study them during Chanukah.Boys can be seen all over Yeshiva during recess being tested by their friends. This contest is a continuation of last years contest. It has been mentioned by many of the Rebbeim how their talmidim know much more yedios than in previous years. We wish the boys success with this project and encourage all the boys to participate.

Orientation

The purpose of this year's orientation was to inform the parents of what is expected from their children and to familiarize them with what will be covered at each grade level. To this end we have once again changed the format of our orientation both in secular studies and Limudei Kodesh. Each teacher prepared a presentation and distributed a handout describing the daily schedule and curricular goals. We hope the parent body found the evening interesting and informative. Please share with us your impressions of this new format, as we plan for future orientations. We would like to thank all the Teachers and Rebbeim for all their efforts in making the orientation such a success!

Lateness Policy

A note concerning our lateness policy has been distributed. To date we are extremely proud of the attendance record. We feel that our policy is very effective as well as being an understanding approach. We thank the parents for being so cooperative! We would like to thank Rabbi B. Aisenstark for coordinating and implementing this program.

Lunch Time

Once again, Rabbi Engel challenges the boys in grades 3,4,5 and 6 to many difficult questions during lunch time. The boys are asked to remember different ideas and concepts. This is done while the children eat their lunches and the children enjoy the challenge. Rabbi Y. Greenfeld does the same for the younger boys and leads a very exciting benching. The boys are thoroughly involved and enthusiastic about benching.

Rosh Hashanah Program

We are once again ran our Rosh Hashana davening program, outlining the Yeshiva's suggested davening for each grade. Raffle tickets were given to the boys who brought their notes back signed, with a chance to win a deluxe set of machzorim, as well as other prizes. The winner of this years Machzorim was Efraim Halpert!

Crossing Van Horne

We would like to remind the parents to make sure their children cross at the corner, where a crossing guard is there to assist the children.
