KEY focuses on developing different middos (character traits) related to ahavas yisrael. At this time, women in various communities are beginning to focus on the middah of "nose b'ol chavero" (carrying the yoke of one's friend). This middah entails having empathy for what one's friend is enduring -- even if there is nothing we can do to help the situation.

We should ask questions that let our friend know she can talk to us. And we should take the time to get information and details from our friend. In this way, we will understand what she is experiencing, and let her know she is not alone in her suffering. Of course, this middah doesn't mean getting lost in our friend's suffering to the point where it overwhelms us. But it means extending ourselves to help "carry our friend's yoke."
