Programs

Evening & Weekend programs
These courses cater for the part-time and evening members, and are also open to the full-time students who make selective use of them. They consist of over 20 hours of shiurim on a variety of subjects and levels from which our students make their choice. In order to enable as many members as possible to participate, some of the evening and weekend sessions are held in various centres in London, so that very few people travel more than six miles to the nearest centre. Such centres have been established in Willesden, Muswell Hill, Hendon, Kingsbury and Hillel House, apart from our main centre in Golders Green. About 150 young men and women avail themselves of these courses and come regularly from all corners of London and even outlying areas as far apart as Ascot, Reading, Southend and Leicester, travelling two hours each way several times a week in order to attend. The effort that these young people make to quench their spiritual thirst is remarkable indeed and deserves our highest admiration and support.

Vacation Courses
These are intended for students who wish to devote some or all of their vacation from University, or between School and University or who can in some other way free themselves for a period of full-time study. These courses attract students from all over the Country and overseas.

Reaching Out
In our efforts to reach out and bring Torah to people in far-flung places, we send out our Lecturers to speak at such places as Ruislip, Hounslow, Catford and Bromley, Barking and Beacontree, etc. to arouse enthusiasm for judaism and a wish to learn more. We have even gone out to Countries as different as Russia, Ireland and Gibraltar and encouraged many young people to study at our Yeshivah and to reinforce their Jewish commitment in their own Countries.

Israel
We encourage our members to spend some time in further study in Jerusalem. Many of our former students have now gone on Aliyah and have helped to swell the ranks of orthodox professional people in Israel. We have also helped many non-committed Israelis in London to gain an appreciation of their faith and to return to Israel as fully committed Jews.

Counselling
A unique feature of our Yeshivah is the very personal care and interest taken in each individual. Many hours are spent privately with every member to gain their confidence, give help in finding orthodox accommodation, jobs without Shabbat, advise on the best combination of Shiurim and monitoring their progress, helping them over times of religious crisis or set-back, counselling in personal matters, arranging and sometimes solemnising weddings, arranging Minyanim etc. in places of bereavement and attending their Simchot, dealing with their ideological and practical problems, helping them to go Kosher, providing after service to students who have left or gone to Israel by corresponding with them and giving advice and help. A large measure of our success is due to this personal interest we take in each student.

Conclusion
From our experiences so far and the number of people who come to us for study and consultation, we have realised that there is a tremendous need in this Country for the services we provide. We are unique in that we offer what normal Yeshivot, Schools and other organisations are not equipped to offer. We can talk to the young adult in his own terminology in an environment which is not embarrassing to him. By purely cultural means and a warm personal approach, we help the young man or woman return to his or her roots, guiding them carefully through any problems or conflicts. We have already saved hundreds of people from a general defection from judaism, cultural assimilation and inter-marriage. It is really gratifying to see how quickly and enthusiastically our students take to the warmth and beauty of true Jewish values once it is presented to them in a way they can understand and appreciate. Our work is expanding continuously. We hope and pray that we will be enabled to keep pace with this vital and evergrowing need.
