MESSAGE FROM THE EMERITUS CHIEF RABBI, DR IMMANUEL JAKOBOVITS

I gladly.and warmly commend the London Jewish Academy (Dvar Yerushalayim) as a pioneering project in Anglo-Jewry worthy of every support.

This remarkable institution at last joins Anglo-Jewry to the ranks of leading communities, notably in Israel, which now provide academic facilities for men (and women), often intellectuals, seeking to rediscover their Jewish roots and identity through intensive Jewish studies, quickly leading to very advanced levels.

These institutions have added an altogether new dimension to Jewish educational endeavours as well as to the reclamation of precious individuals who would otherwise be lost to Judaism and the Jewish people.

Under the enterprising leadership of Rabbi Freilich, the London Jewish Academy has already made remarkable strides, generating a demand for further expansion for which substantial help is now urgently needed. I hope this will be forthcoming in generous measure, thus contributing significantly to the advancement of Anglo-Jewry and the ever greater appreciation of Jewish values.

Dr.Immanuel Jakobovits
Chief Rabbi
