We are indeed fortunate that we live in a world where the learning of a daily folio of the Talmud is a reality. Never before has the entire world-- literally-- stood together as today, poised to collectively fulfill the Will of the Creator. Now, with technology such as that used by the Shema Yisrael Torah Network, Torah in general, and Daf Yomi in particular, will be available 24-hours a day, throughout the week, around the world in an instant! Utilizing the Streaming Audio capabilities of the internet, the daily daf is now in reach of Jews sitting 'round the world, able to learn simultaneously. No longer necessary is the expensive initial investment for each community in tapes players and copiers, in phone lines and answering machines. No longer must one stand hunched up to his handset on his phone, or even to his phone amplifier: the computer brings the entire Talmud to our fingertips in an instant, wherever we are, through the Shema Yisrael Torah Network. In recent months we have added the Daf Yomi Advancement Forum. This Site is focused on helping those who learn the Daf and want to deepen their understanding of what they have learnt. Additionally we are in the process of creating a registry of every Daf Yomi shiur in the world. Yet this important project can not continue with out your help. A true story...... Once while traveling in a new tunnel Rabbi Ahron of Belz paused to recite the Shema. When queried as to why he decided to say the Shema at that moment ( it was not the time for prayer) he responded that since this was a area where few people have traveled he wanted to accept upon himself the yoke of heaven and thereby sanctify the place by mentioning g-ds name in a place where it was probably never before mentioned.Our tech support team reports that according to the response from our listeners that because of The Shema Yisroel Torah Network's Daf Yomi program the sound of Torah is being heard in places it was never previously heard .
